4/25/2019 Take off your Coat.
Welcome to the new newsletter - blog style! We have revamped our website and added a shopping cart for pre-orders. Please look around and let us know how you like it. It will take me a couple of weeks to work any bugs out, however I’m liking the new look. If you prefer to reply with your pre-order via email, please continue to do that.
ON THE FARM
Now that spring has officially arrived, the cattle are taking it seriously and shedding off their winter coats. The rejected fur turns a brownish color and you can find spots where they have rubbed on trees to pull out the surplus layer. (You can see the brown fur on this boy’s back in the picture below.) As they lose the winter fur they add an oily layer to their skin to help protect them from the heat and biting bugs. Soon they will all look slick and black. The ladies are busy shaking off their undercoat of winter feathers. The added insulation is no longer necessary.
